ABOUT MY AUTOGRAPHS
I am gradually liquidating my extensive collection of sports autographs and memorabilia (primarily baseball) mostly acquired from 1994-2014. My volume on eBay ebbs and flows according to how much time I have to devote to it. If not in-person, my collecting has been done via private signings, auctions, and occasional retail purchases. Of course the biggest question anyone should have as a buyer is -
WHAT ABOUT THE AUTHENTICITY??
Although eBay seems to have made some strides in protecting collectors from fakes and forgeries, this hobby is still overrun with questionable items. Here is what I can do to back my listings and give you the same sense of security I seek as a buyer:
My autographs fall into three categories of authentication:
1) Those that came with a COA /LOA when acquired (usually at auction or private signing). When that is the case, I have uploaded any applicable images. Many are from nationally recognized authentication houses.
2) I also frequently get my own COA/LOAs (usually from PSA/DNA) and post same.
3) Those that I acquired in-person and don't have a previously existing COA/LOA. I have pondered what to do about this as obviously if these items are acquired by me and the only LOA is from me then what does that really mean? Plus sometimes the likely sale value of the item just doesnt justify the expense of a new COA/LOA? I would rather have the buyer undertake that effort if they so desire. So here is my offer...best that I can think of... to assure you my items are genuine: If, after winning, you get a "fail" authenticity opinion from any of eBay's recognized authentication firms (see http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/authentication.html#authentication) I will refund your purchase, refund the cost of authentication, pay for shipping to return it to me, and add for your trouble. After the item is delivered to you (along with my guarantee letter outlining these terms--see pic), this offer will be in effect for the original buyer only for the next year. (Note: I do keep photos of everything I sell.)
IMPORTANT:
1) I will also apply the terms of #3 above to #1 and #2  above to assure you any pre-existing COA/LOA is genuine and correct as well. As an example, if an item comes with a JSA COA and you later get a PSA "fail", I will refund your money and apply the terms of this guarantee!
2) If you request a Quick Opinion through eBay while the listing is active, and it comes back "Likely Not Genuine," message me with a pic of the email and I will refund your cost via PayPal ().
